GallopNYC is the city's only nonprofit dedicated to equestrian therapy for NYC children and adults, with specialized programs for riders with disabilities, at-risk youth, veterans and seniors. At the height of their season, they provide lessons to 686 riders a week at locations across the city. All GallopNYC's programs have been put on hold due to the coronavirus, but the organization meanwhile needs urgent help to care for its string of school horses. The New York Times recently ran a piece about GallopNYC's struggles.
Manhattan Saddlery has been a long-time supporter of GallopNYC, which is keeping the equestrian experience alive for underserved communities in our home town. We know it is a difficult time for many economically, and charitable giving may not be at the top of the list. However, if you are in a position to give this worthy group a needed boost, please donate at their GoFundMe site. All donations will be used to provide food and care for GallopNYC's 45 school horses.
