About Us

In a city of millions, Manhattan Saddlery is one of a kind—the only equestrian tack shop in New York City, proudly serving the riding community since 1912. From Grand Prix competitors to weekend hilltoppers to horse-crazy kids just getting started, we’ve outfitted generations of riders from our historic shop on 24th Street. As a brand, we embrace our dual role as a retail authority and a cultural hub for all things horse in the city—and now we’re looking for a marketing manager who shares that vision.

About the Role

We're seeking a marketing manager with a deep connection to the hunter/jumper world to help us expand our barn network, share our story, and strengthen our relationship with riders both online and in the field. You’ll develop and maintain sales relationships with barns, trainers, and customers across the Northeast, while also elevating our presence through strategic events, social media, and on-brand campaigns.

This is a remote role with flexible hours (EST preferred), ideal for a creative, organized self-starter who is familiar with the equestrian space and can connect authentically with the people within it.

What You’ll Do

  • Cultivate and manage sales relationships with a growing network of hunter/jumper barns, trainers, and show clients—think outreach, check-ins, and custom programming that makes them feel valued and supported
  • Develop and execute creative marketing campaigns across digital and in-person channels, with an emphasis on seasonal promotions, new product launches, and brand partnerships
  • Own our social media calendar and community engagement, ensuring our channels reflect our voice and values (and stay top of mind with our followers)
  • Plan and support events, pop-ups, and in-barn activations that bring the Manhattan Saddlery experience beyond our 24th Street walls
  • Collaborate with our sales and shop teams to align messaging, boost ROI, and ensure consistency across customer touchpoints
  • Track performance and report on marketing KPIs to help shape our growth strategy

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or sales
  • Deep familiarity with the hunter/jumper community—ideally, you're a current or former rider with personal barn relationships and an intuitive understanding of the culture
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills—you’re just as comfortable chatting with trainers ringside as you are writing email copy or managing a brand calendar
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (especially Instagram and Meta Business Suite) and digital marketing tools (e.g., Canva, Klaviyo, Mailchimp). Shopify experience is a big plus!
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities independently

Nice to Have

  • Existing network of barns, trainers, and show contacts in the Northeast or beyond
  • Event coordination experience
  • Familiarity with retail or e-commerce operations, especially in lifestyle or sport industries

Why Manhattan Saddlery?

You’ll be part of a legacy brand with a devoted customer base and a lot of heart. We’re proud to combine historic heritage with modern sensibility, and we’re seeking someone who values both. If you're ready to shape how the next generation of equestrians connects with one of NYC’s most iconic riding institutions, we’d love to hear from you.

To Apply

Please email your resume and a brief cover letter to outreach@manhattansaddlery.com. In your cover letter, tell us what excites you about this role—and include a few sentences about what you’d tackle on your very first day. We can’t wait to hear from you.

If you don't see a position that suits you, please feel free to send us a cover letter and resume. We keep all applications on file for future reference and will contact you if a position that fits you becomes available.
